Great Job Interviews

Confident candidates who perform really well at interviews give employers more reason to say 'yes.

So how do you give your best interview performance?

1. Making eye contact is vital but try not to stare.
Direct eye contact shows that you are an open, relaxed, and honest person. Giving eye contact when you are talking to the interviewer communicates that you are interested in them and that you are feeling good about yourself.

2. Smiling is one of the most powerful things you can do. If you smile it will immediately give the interviewer a positive impression of you and it will help you to get over any feelings of
nervousness. You never know - you may even get a smile in return!

3. If you use the interviewer's name during the interview you will immediately create rapport. They will listen far more intently to what you have to say if you make a reference to their name as you speak.

4. Listening is a fantastic way to calm your nerves. Summarising what the person has just said is a very good way to show that you have heard, taken in and are able to comment on it. You can also pay attention to the interviewer's pace and pitch when they speak and see if you can match it. You'll really witness a positive response in the other person.

Most important of all - enjoy it!

It's Never Too Late To Change

I was in Starbucks over the weekend. I was surprised to learn that they didn't even serve coffee for the first few years they were in business. They sold coffee beans but had never considered actually selling coffee. It's quite amazing when you think of just how huge they are now. That first cup of coffee changed everything for the company. It's never too late to change what you are doing to put yourself in a new direction.

Many people think of change as negative or something to fear. But when you stop and think about it, change is something that we do as human beings from the very moment of conception – it's the natural way of things!

The 3 biggest fears connected with making life changes and taking charge of your life are the fear of failure, the fear of success and the fear of change. All three can be easily overcome.

You can reinvent your life. You can do anything you want to do at any time. Many people feel that they are too old, do not have enough education, do not have enough money, etc. But we can all use those as excuses. Look at where you are now and move toward that which you want to become.
